Tim Flannery and the Lunatic Fringe will open the Del Mar Foundation's 2026-27 First Thursdays concert season on Thursday, Oct. 1, at Town Hall in the Del Mar Civic Center.

The former San Diego Padres player and musician headlines a four-concert fall-winter lineup that runs through January, according to the Del Mar Foundation's event listings. All shows are open to First Thursdays subscribers only.

Flannery, known to fans as "Flan," is also a former Major League Baseball broadcaster and philanthropist. He leads a band that blends bluegrass, country and rock, according to the Maritime Museum of San Diego, which has hosted his performances. The Maritime Museum calls him a longtime San Diego favorite whose shows mix music with stories of family, baseball and life on the road.
