The Rancho Santa Fe Women's Fund has opened its 2026-2027 grant cycle. Nonprofits serving children, youth and women in the greater San Diego and North County area can apply for funding through a process that ends with awards in May 2027.
Organizations typically request grants of about $25,000 to $75,000, and the fund usually awards between seven and 11 groups each year, according to a news release published in the San Diego Union-Tribune. Since 2004, the Rancho Santa Fe-based fund has distributed more than $6.8 million to 188 local nonprofit organizations and projects.
The fund will kick off its new membership year at a general meeting Sept. 17 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The venue has not been announced; organizers said the location will be shared with attendees.
Programs Chair Amy Myers said the Sept. 17 meeting will feature Dr. Mark Milliron, president and CEO of National University, as guest speaker. Milliron, who has led the Carlsbad-based university since 2022, plans to discuss how artificial intelligence is reshaping education and the workforce. His talk will cover what parents, grandparents, mentors and lifelong learners should know about preparing for the future, according to the news release.
The fund described Milliron as an author, speaker and consultant with more than three decades of experience in education. National University has a 54-year history of serving nontraditional, working and military students.
A grants committee co-chaired by Laura Froelich and Staci Fournier will guide this year's review. The process begins with letters of intent and proposals, moves through member-led site visits and finalist presentations, and concludes with awards in May 2027. This year's focus areas are children and youth services and women's services.
