Susan Hennenfent, the Rotary Club of Del Mar-Solana Beach's membership director, received the Governor's Recognition Award on Friday, Sept. 25.

Rotary District 5340 Governor Jeb Bakke presented the award at the club's weekly meeting at the Hilton Del Mar. Club President Jason Strayer selected Hennenfent for the honor, according to the club's announcement. The club credited Hennenfent with playing a key role in its ongoing success, saying her effort and diligence inspire fellow members.

Hennenfent has been involved in the club's recent membership additions. In July 2026, she helped induct Ed Spinardi, a Rotarian with more than 40 years of service who relocated from Merced. On the same day as her award, the club welcomed Kate Kousser, director of development for Casa de Amistad, as its newest member.

The Rotary Club of Del Mar-Solana Beach, founded in 1992, has more than 30 members. The club meets Fridays at the Hilton Del Mar from 7:15 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
