Solana Beach voters have until Monday, Oct. 19 to register or update their address before mail ballots arrive for the Tuesday, Nov. 3 General Municipal Election.

The city posted a reminder on its website urging all residents to verify their registration at sdvote.com. Voters whose address is current need not take any action. Those with an outdated address or no registration must complete a new form online or in person before the deadline.

The city says online registration takes less than two minutes.

Two City Council seats are on the ballot. District 2 and District 4 will each elect a council member to a full four-year term. The Solana Beach municipal election is consolidated with the Statewide General Election, with the San Diego County Registrar of Voters conducting election operations.

The council voted unanimously on June 24 to call the election. Mayor Heebner and Council Members MacDonald, Zito, Edson and Becker all voted in favor under Resolution 2026-036.

The San Diego County Registrar of Voters lists Monday, Oct. 5 as the first day mail ballots go out to registered voters. The city's own notice lists Wednesday, Oct. 7. Both sources confirm the Oct. 19 registration deadline.

Official ballot drop boxes open Tuesday, Oct. 6 and remain available daily through Tuesday, Nov. 3. Early in-person voting also begins Oct. 5 at the Registrar's office, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Nov. 3, polls are open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Sample ballots and Voter Information Pamphlets will be mailed between Sept. 24 and Oct. 24, according to the city's candidate election guide.

As of Aug. 31, Solana Beach had 9,543 registered voters, according to the Registrar's monthly registration report.

Voters who miss the Oct. 19 deadline can still cast a ballot through Conditional Voter Registration. That process begins Tuesday, Oct. 20 at the Registrar's office or any vote center and runs through Nov. 3.

Paper registration forms are available at the Registrar of Voters office, U.S. Postal Service locations, the City Clerk's office at Solana Beach City Hall, public libraries and Department of Motor Vehicles offices. The city advises calling ahead to confirm hours.
